Intertwined explores the intimacy of romantic love through the concept of joining together. With a focus on the emotional and physical connection between partners, Intertwined offers a unique perspective on the power of love and the beauty of human relationships. Inspired by courting chairs this work showcases the beauty and complexity of relationships, emphasizing the intertwining of two individuals.
Courting Chairs typically have two connected chairs facing opposite directions. A couple would sit and converse without truly touching as a chaperone was nearby. They were commonly seen during early 19th century France, Victorian England, or America’s Gilded Age.
